Can you believe how fast this pregnancy has flown by? I have only 11 weeks left. In some ways, that seems like a long time, but on the other hand, it doesn't sound very long at all!
Yesterday was my last monthly check-up. Now, I will be going every two weeks. I've gained 10 pounds total, which still totally astonishes me since I gained 50 pounds with each of my girls. I have not done anything different........I'm just not starving all the time like I was when I was pregnant with them.
I had to get the rhogam shot yesterday. Since Morgan's blood type is + and mine is -, I have to get this shot during each pregnancy and then again after the baby is born. It prevents my body from making antibodies that could attack the baby's blood if he came into contact with my blood. At least that's the way I understand it. The weirdest thing is that the nurse had me go over to the hospital lab to pick up the shot and bring it back to the doctor's office. It was the strangest thing! I had to fill out all of this paperwork as if I was having some sort of surgery or something, pay for the shot, and then wait around until they gave me the shot and then I had to drive back with it to the doctor's office so the nurse could give it to me. I just found that really odd. My "quick" checkup ending up taking 2 hours because of that.
But, everything is looking good and I'm finally done with all of these tests, shots, etc. My glucose test came back fine and I don't have to get tested for Group B Strep this time because earlier in the pregnancy I tested positive for it, when I had bladder infection (that I had absolutely no symptoms from). I have always had Group B Strep.....it's just something some women carry that isn't harmful to them, but can be harmful to the baby if it comes into contact with it during the birth, so I always have to have antibiotics while I'm in labor. I'm allergic to penicillin too, so they have to give me a different antibiotic. And because I always test positive for it, my pediatrician always makes us stay in the hospital 2 nights to make sure the baby has no signs of contacting it (it can cause respiratory distress) and I am always ready to go home after 1 night! Those 2 nights always seem like the longest ones ever!! Maybe it won't be so boring this time though, since I have my laptop and iphone. :D
I thought I might just make it through this pregnancy without the dreaded puffy feet, but no such luck! They started swelling yesterday. I've been on my feet a lot lately though, cleaning up and shopping/running errands to get ready for Madison's birthday party sleepover tomorrow night, so that could be why.
Well, this post is probably boring, but it's really just for me to be able to remember everything later on. The girls are really starting to get excited about Matthew. They're always asking me if he's awake or not and Kaylee and Lily both like to give him a hug before they go to bed. :) Tonight at dance, there was a little boy there.......he is around a year old and Madison was saying how cute he was and how she thinks having a little brother is going to be so much better than having a little sister. LOL! The little boy's mom and I were joking that Matthew is going to have 4 Mommas looking after him! :D

I'm totally smiling right now and I think the only thing that would have made this post better is a new belly pic! I will wait patiently and hope to see one soon, lol!
I am dying right now to find out that you are allergic to penicillin. I AM TOO! Crazy! I also had GBS with Alyssa but not with the last two. Weird, right?
I think you'll enjoy your stay in the hospital just to have a little break. I hated being there when I had the girls but the third time around I enjoyed not having to cook and clean at home. :)
Tonight went well and it seems like there will be a lot of homework to come in 1st grade, lol! I guess I'd better get ready!
Hope the girls have a blast tomorrow at the slumber party!
That was a great post. I had to have that shot too. I only gained 5 lbs with Carly the most I ever gained was 14 lbs with Jennifer my 3rd child.
After I had my first I disliked that hospital stay. I just wanted to be home with everyone. Hope yours is great.
Hope the girls have fun tomorrow nite. We are having one friend over tomorrow night too.
Take care :)
It's went by so fast! My theory is the more kids you have the faster time goes. ;)
I agree with Veronica...we needed a picture. Wow...you are doing great with your weight. I am glad that the glucose test came back fine.
I am allergic to Penicillin too! (Like mother, like daughters) Ha!
That is a weird story about them making you go pick up the shot and bring it back to them.
Yes...all along I have been thinking how much your three girls will love mothering little brother Matthew! It will be so much fun. These next few weeks will zoom by.
Happy Birthday to Madison! I hope she has a fun sleepover.
Love, Momma
Omgosh, only 10 pounds? girl you are good. I cannot believe it is only 11 more weeks either. Wow it has gone by fast. rest those feet...hope the sleepover goes well.
I mean I hope it went well.
Yuck on the shot! 11 weeks will go by fast! I am so happy the girls are excited for Matthew!!
HAHAH! I love that she said having a little brother is going to be better than a little sister! Too funny!
Our pediatrician requests that everyone stays at least two nights. I have to admit that it is great having nurses bring you whatever you need but I couldn't wait to go home! But I am sure you will be plenty busy trying not to get pee pee in your face and updating us with lots of pictures! LOL!
I am SOOOO jealous that you've only gained 10 pounds! Way to go! You look fabulous in every picture I've seen of you!
I'm RH- too. I hated getting those shots. Colin turned out to have the same blood type, so I didn't have to get a shot after he was born. He's my favorite child. LOL!
