Lily is 5?!!

It doesn't seem like 5 years ago that my sweet Lilian Paige came into this world, weighing in at 8lb. 12 oz!

The way she came into this world almost gave her Daddy a heart attack, but it sure has been a fun story to tell too! She was almost born in the bathroom in my room at the hospital. We went in for a scheduled induction around 4pm on 8/9/06. By the time they finally got us going on the pitocin, it was probably around 6pm. It seemed like nothing at all was happening for quite awhile, but then some pains kicked in and I decided I might just get an epidural this time. Well, I thought it would be a good idea to go to the bathroom before that, so in there I went, and all of a sudden the contractions were so hard and fast that I couldn't even call for help. It was all I could do to just survive. Ha! Once I finally felt strong enough to stand up and open the door, I took one look at Morgan and said, "she is coming out right now!!" The nurses had no idea I was anywhere near ready to deliver, so when he yelled for them, they didn't come running. Then, he screamed that they better get in there right now!! LOL!!

It was a miracle that I made it back to the bed before she was delivered. She was delivered by the nurses at 9:34pm, then once my doctor made it, he yelled at them for not paying more close attention to me. :D Of course, my memory is foggy, but I'm thinking that from the first pain to her delivery, it was probably around 30 minutes to an hour. I think it might have been as traumatic for her as it was for us?! LOL!

Oh my goodness, though.......she has been the happiest little girl ever since! So easy-going. So happy. She whirled through learning to sit up, crawl, walk, and run just so she could keep up with her big sisters. She was walking by herself at 10 months. Lily has been my one that would get into everything. She loved to unroll the toilet paper, pull every wipe out of the wipes container, dump out a whole container of goldfish on the floor......that little stinker! ;) How could you even get aggravated at this face though?!!

Lily carried this blanket around everywhere she went. She calls it her "Bee" and she still has it, even though she did share it with the dog for awhile. Ha! She drank her bottle of milk too until she was over two years old, and then Momma had to have a ceremony where we watched the "ba-ba's" go into the trash and we said, "Bye bye, ba-ba!"

Lily is a girl who likes to have fun! She loves to play. She's a Daddy's girl who loves to go fishing and be outside with him, no matter what he's doing. But, she also loves to play dress up, paint her nails, and all things girly as well!

She didn't have much hair until she was at least two, but once it started growing, it just kept growing and growing. I have only trimmed her hair once!

She has the most beautiful, soft curls. And the prettiest smile too! :)

Lily is kind and encouraging to others. She is very quiet around those she doesn't know, but she can talk our ear off here at home! And she loves to ask questions.......questions that my other girls never asked, like "Momma, how are they gonna get the baby out?!" "Momma, why do girls have these? (pointing to her breasts)" She keeps me on my toes and cracks me up constantly!

She is the sweetest little girl and I cannot believe she is already 5! She has been a constant bright spot in our lives since she came into this world and we all love her so much!!

We thought Lily would be our last baby, but God had other plans. I tell her all the time though that she will always be my baby! This morning, us girls had a little party and she opened up her presents from us and the girls made her the cutest card! I'll share the pictures tomorrow. She has told me "thank you for my presents" many times today already. We went to Chick-Fil-A for lunch, her choice, and have plans to meet Daddy at the bowling alley tonight for bowling and pizza! Then on Saturday, we will have her real party with her friends at a local bouncy place.

Happy Birthday, my silly Lily!! We love you SO much!!!!!!!!

Kristin...for some reason I'm crying after reading this post! I loved reading her story from the beginning and think this is such a special post that she'll love to read when she's older. :)

I remember when I first met you, Lily was almost done drinking her bottle and look now...she's five! :) It's so crazy to me how fast the time is flying!

I'm so glad Lily had such a wonderful day! Hope you guys have lots of fun tonight and wish I could be there with you all! :)

P.S. Please tell Lily that Miss Veronica didn't forget about her and her present is on it's way! :)

Lily is such a doll! I loved the baby pictures of her. I was so surprised that she didn't have much hair when she was little. She does have such pretty hair. (All of your girls do.)

It sounds like she had a fun-filled day...and she gets to have another party for friends on Saturday!!! Woohoo! That's great!

That is quite a story of her birth! Wow! Bless your heart...that was kind of scary for you... and for poor Morgan too. I'm glad you at least made it back to the bed! (:>)

I love her full name, Lilian Paige.
I have a niece named Lilian...and a Granddaughter with the middle name Paige. (Julia Paige)

Happy Birthday to your "Baby Girl".

Love, Momma Linda
