First Day of School!!

I think I fell asleep last night praying for my girls to have a great day today! :) They woke up ready to go though and I was glad they were excited!

When the sun comes up in the morning, it will just about blind you from the reflection off the water. I took this after I got home, but it's so pretty how sparkly the water is! It helps to wake you up in the morning!

The girls picked out their outfits last night and I got them ready. I got cute hooks to hang in their closet and so after I iron their clothes the night before, I can hang it on their hook so that it's ready to go the next day. I woke them up around 7am and we left at 7:30. Madison and Kaylee ate some sausage I made last night and toast. Lily didn't want to eat, but luckily they all have lunch early (close to 11) so they should be fine. They just aren't big on breakfast. We did everything we could the night before, so that it would make things easier in the morning. We even straightened Madi's hair the night before to save time. It just makes it easier when we don't have to feel rushed and everyone is more likely to be in a good mood!

Morgan took the big girls on his way to work, since they were just getting dropped off. I took Lily so that I could walk her in. School starts at 8:20, with the bell ringing at 8:10, so they were all early, but we beat the traffic jam and it was well worth that! (Don't you love Lily's smile in this picture? LOL!)

Lily did great! She started Kindergarten and we had to wait in the cafeteria for awhile, since we were early, so I let her play games on my iphone. She played angry birds and barbie. She was fine when I dropped her off and gave me a hug and smiled before I left. I knew she'd be fine......I was just hoping she wouldn't get hungry or too tired. She has never been to all-day school before. But, she seemed to have a great day!

Kaylee started 3rd grade and she had a great day too. All of her BFF's get to go to recess with her, even though they're in different classes, so she was thrilled that she'll get to see them everyday and play!

Madison had a great day too, although she wasn't too thrilled to have math homework on the first day. LOL! She really loves her homeroom teacher though and was excited that they don't have gym on Thursdays. Hee hee......she's so my daughter!

This morning went really well and so now I know the rest of the year will be just fine! Lily was playing her keyboard before school this morning.
I was so not looking forward to being in 3 different car lines this afternoon. I worried about it all day long! They all get out at 3:40, but I left at 2:20 just so I could be one of the first ones in Lily's line. When I got there, there was only one other person in line. Ha! For Madi's sleepover party this Friday, I decided to get little tin pails and tie ribbons to the handles.....then I'm going to fill them with goodies and put each girl's name or initial on there. I took all of that with me today and worked on those while I waited for an hour. I was a little afraid my car might overheat in the 100 degree weather, but it's too hot to be without a/c!

One of my greatest sources of anxiety is feeling trapped in a car, so I was really afraid I would get panicky. I actually did great though. BUT, making a pregnant lady wait in a car for 2 hours is not very nice, because I really thought I was going to have to find a place to go potty. I think Matthew was kicking my bladder half the time. :D Anyhow, once I got Lily, we went over to Madi's school and the line wasn't too long, but the Kindergarten was so packed it was preventing Madi's school from being able to exit, so that's the only thing that took awhile. When we got to Kaylee's school, the line was pretty long, but went fast. So, we ended up picking all 3 up by 4:10 and got home at 4:20. So, it only took about 30 minutes to pick up all 3! Hopefully, as the year goes on, I won't have to get to Lily's school quite so early!

I was really excited that we were home so early, because I really expected it to be past 5pm by the time we got home. So, our school year is off to a great start and now it's just about getting back into a routine again. I'm just so happy that the girls had a great first day!

I remember the days of dropping off and picking up my girlies...I had lines to wait in too. I found things to do to pass the time. I'm glad you did to.

So happy that all three girls had a good day at school. Soon it will all feel like routine.

Love ya,
Momma

So glad the first day went so well! The Lord totally worked that out didn't he? :) LOL on being kicked in the bladder. I don't miss those times where you feel like you might not make it to the potty, lol! ;)
