Well, not too much exciting stuff has been going on around here lately, but I thought I'd update what we've been up to.
The girls had 2 friends over this past Friday. These are their friends that are sisters and so it works out great because the oldest one is Madison's age and the youngest is only a year older than Kaylee, so they love playing together. And Lily thinks she is just as old as them, so she fits right in. They played, had a fashion show, served me food from their restaurant, watched videos, played on the computer, and then we aired up the air mattresses and they all slept in the living room. :)
We bought all of their school supplies this week, so they are ready to go! I wanted to get it done early, before they run out of everything and the crowds get too bad.
We even started a little school clothes shopping too this week. We found a few cute things on clearance at Old Navy for Kaylee and Lily and a really cute dress for Madison at Kohl's. It's hard to believe they will all be in "real" school this year! After school shopping yesterday, we stopped for some yummy ice cream on the way home too.
Well, when I was cleaning for the sleepover, I found lots of crumbs on the floor in the girls' rooms, and even some drink stains on the carpet, so I made a new rule that no food or drink is allowed in their rooms, except water. This has worked out great and has cut out a lot of unhealthy snacking at night and much less stress for me. I'm pretty laid back and my girls are really so well behaved that I rarely have to put my foot down, but sometimes it is just necessary.
It actually rained really good this week, so we were thankful for that!
The girls were supposed to have summer dance classes this week and next, but they got cancelled because not enough people signed up. That was fine with me.......I can use that money to pay for their performance team registration/fees since they found out that they both made the team again.
This year, they've decided to have the performance team attend classes on the 1st and 2nd weeks of school. Their regular classes will start the 3rd week of school, like usual. I'm not sure they realize how hectic the 1st week of school is already, and Kaylee's dance class is supposed to start at 5pm and I will be lucky if I make it out of the car line at school by 5pm! Last year, it was well after 5 by the time I made it through the line/traffic to pick them up and they get out at 3:4o! It's always a madhouse that first week because they have 4 campuses that get out all at the same time and the schools are right beside each other in a row. The main road into the schools is only 2 lanes, with a center turn lane and it is just insane trying to get in and out! Add the fact that this year I will be trying to pick up 3 kids at 3 different campuses all at the same time and you can imagine! Have I mentioned how much I hate traffic?! I joked with the girls I might not even leave to pick them up until around 5pm. I don't know.....doesn't sound like too bad of an idea to me! Haha! Of course, Lily will get picked up first because this is all new to her and I don't want her to have to wait forever. This means I will probably be getting in line at her school around 2:45.
I've read some more books lately that I'll probably post about later. We are all planning to go see the new Harry Potter movie this weekend too. Morgan, Kaylee, and Lily love those movies. Me and Madison, not so much, but I figured we might as well watch it anyways so we can find out what happens. I haven't read the books, so I have no idea what happens. I don't even think I've seen all the movies, so when we watched part one, I really didn't know most of what was going on, but oh well! Ha! I just like going for the yummy popcorn! :D
Well, that's enough rambling for now! Hope everyone is having a great week so far!

James and I are still groaning and avoiding the school supplies aisle. But, we did have Timothy's senior pics consultation this week, so we had to buy clothes for his pictures (which are next week!). Aye, aye, aye! =)
Sounds like you girls are ready, though...=)
I still marvel at all the people out there who have these long old lists of necessary school supplies. We are so fortunate in that our school doesn't ask for much. It def helps out in the budget dept.
Glad you guys got the break with the cancellation on dance. I'm glad you were able to just move the money you'd already paid over to next year's tuition!
I'm so excited for you that you finally get to have all three in school this year. In my mind, Lily is still three (like when we first met) and I keep thinking...she is still too young for Kinder! :)
Time is flying and our kiddos are growing whether we're ready or not! :)
School will be starting soon...but it doesn't seem like it should be. I have done nothing too exciting this summer except stay inside most of the time out of the heat! (:>) But I know it is an exciting time for the kids. (But such an expensive time for my Lonna who has 4 kids in school.)
Sounds like you have a pretty good head start on it. I'm like Veronica...I can't quite believe that Lily is going to be in school. Where have these two years gone?
My goodness, before we know it little Matthew will be here! Sometimes it really is just unbelievable how lie flies by.
Glad the girls had fun with the friends and the sleepover. And I hope you all will enjoy the movie. I only saw one of those with one of my grandson...and I didn't have a clue about anything. Ha! But it was a big production and I enjoyed the popcorn too! (:>)
Time for bed. Love ya!
so much going on! glad you are having a good summer :) have fun getting ready for school!
I need to go and buy the school supplies. Already started on the clothes.
have a great week!
Good idea on the no food/drink rule. We have that one here too!
