Random Blogging!

It seems I haven't been doing too good about this blogging thing. I guess I typically blog when I have a picture to blog about, but I haven't been too good about taking pics lately.

We haven't been doing anything special lately. We did get some more school clothes shopping done. I figured if we do a little here and there, it won't be so overwhelming. We also all went as a family to see the Harry Potter movie this weekend, and we all enjoyed it.

We missed church again Sunday because I cannot sleep lately for anything! I usually lay in bed wide awake, munching on tums because my throat is on fire, until at least 2am. Then, I toss and turn until about 5am, because Lily keeps touching me or rolling over on me or the dog is down by my feet bugging me. Finally, around 7am when Morgan gets up to go to work and Lily scoots over, I usually fall asleep, which means I've been sleeping until around 11am! This is SO not good with school coming up.

That was the last straw and I decided that Lily has to sleep in her own bed, so last night I ended up walking her back to her bed about 3 times and then Morgan went in there with her for awhile until she fell asleep. She was really proud of herself when she woke up though and had slept in her room all night. We are just going to keep at it.......I know it's best for her to get into the habit of it before school starts, so this really is the best time to do it. And really there is no other choice at this point.....we have officially run out of room for all of us in our bed!

I've read a few more books lately. One was "Weird" by Craig Groeschel. I really liked it. It was about how as Christians, we really should not be okay with doing things simply because everyone else is doing them, or they are normal. We should be weird. Things like how it is weird to be debt-free; it is weird to not have premarital sex; it is weird to not be busy all the time. I highly recommend it!

The other book I read was "Erasing Hell" by Francis Chan. Evidently, there is a guy named Rob Bell who is a well-known pastor who wrote a book claiming God's love for everyone will save them all from Hell in the end. The whole point of Chan's book is to see what the bible truly says about hell. It's a great study guide if you want to see all the instances in the bible where hell is mentioned and the context of them. It truly boils down to the fact that Jesus and all of his followers clearly believed in hell and that it is a literal place........well, I don't know about you, but that's all I need to know to convince me that I should believe the same! As Chan says, God doesn't need a reason for why He chose to punish unbelievers in that way.......He is God and His ways are higher and He can do what He pleases, regardless of if it makes sense to us or not!

Well, that's about all I have for tonight! :) I go to the doctor Wednesday for my check-up, so I'll do a pregnancy update then......not much new going on there, as far as I know! Only 15 weeks to go, which seems totally crazy to me!

I was just looking at that book on Christianbook.com and wondering if it was good. I wondered what his angle was, but I usually agree with about 80-90% of what Chan says. And you are right, what God wants to do is His choice, it doesn't really matter what makes sense or what we think is "fair". Fair would be all of us going to hell, so...
Hope you get more sleep soon, for sure!

That will be great if Lily starts sleeping in her bed...cuz pretty soon Matthew will be here and he will want to be in there with Momma! (:>)

Our Lonna would always start out in her bed and then creep in to ours in the middle of the night! She was a crazy sleeper and I would wake up with her sleeping sideways with her leg across my neck! Ha!

I will look forward to the blog update tomorrow after your doctor appointment!

Love, Momma

That Chan book does sound interesting. He's right for sure when he said that God can do what he wants simply because he's God!

I really, really hope you guys havea some success with getting Lily to stay in her own bed! I hope that'll be the same for us over here with Audrey too! How funny that our girls love being in our beds! Well, not really funny, but you know what I mean! :)

I cannot believe you only have 15 weeks to go! The time is really gonna start flying now! Can't wait to see a new belly pic tomorrow!

I am so excited you only have 15 weeks to go. It seems like it has gone by really quickly...of course I am not the one who is pregnant :)

Thanks for the recommendations on the books. They definitely sound like good ones.
Blessings,
Amy

I'm the same way as you lately. If I haven't taken any pictures, I don't blog! haha!

Your books sound interesting! I just finished reading Jaycee Dugards' book 'A Stolen Life' and it was really good! So incredibly sad but so wonderful! I totally cried when I got to the part where she was reunited with her mom and friends! I don't think I've ever cried reading a book before! haha!

Can't wait to hear about your appointment!

Those books sound interesting. I have heard many fire & brimstone sermons in my lifetime - I do believe there is a hell. Some preachers try to sugarcoat it now days.
Can't wait for the baby update - glad you are getting some school shopping done & I hope you get some sleep, too!

Been a lurker for a bit, visiting now and then... I found you via Lynnette (Dancing Again)... thought maybe I should stick my head in the door and say HOWDY! this time. LOL! You are on my prayer list for your pregnancy, my dear. I understand the sleep problems. Have your asked your doctor about Prilosec for your tummy? My family has excellent experience with it. Just a thought. Hope your appointment turned out well! Blessings ♥
