Site being prepped with dirt:
Getting the forms ready for the foundation andDrilling and pouring the piers under the foundation:
I had to have Morgan explain to me what piers are for and what they do. He told me they drill down 10 feet, 12 inches in diameter, and then the bottom of the pier is belled out. Then the concrete is poured into the holes to make the piers. The foundation will sit on top of the piers and will keep it extremely stable so that you will never have a sinking foundation or any problems with cracking or anything like that.
Plumbing is in!
They will finish up getting everything ready for the foundation to be poured and they are planning to do that on Monday, weather permitting. Once the foundation is set, the actual framing goes pretty fast (about a week) and that's when it starts getting really exciting!!
