2 Dancers + 3 Days of Dance Rehearsals/Recital = 1 Exhausted, yet Super Proud Momma!!! :D
We had SO much fun this week! But, it was a long week!
Thursday night from 5-9pm was dance rehearsal.
Friday from 5-9pm was full dress rehearsal.
Then, Saturday from 12 - 4pm was the real recital. Needless to say, I'm exhausted, but the girls had so much fun and I loved getting them ready and watching them dance!
So, Thursday was recital practice. There are a lot of kids that go to their dance center!
This year's theme was Pinnochio.

Kaylee practicing her hip hop/jazz dance "Oh, oh, oh, it's magic"

Madison practicing her tap dance.

Then, Friday night was a full dress rehearsal, complete with costumes and makeup.

I took pictures on Friday night. We aren't allowed to video or take pictures at the real recital, so any pics/video have to be taken at dress rehearsal. Since I ordered a professional video, I decided to take pictures. I resisted the urge to whip out my Flip camera and take a little video yesterday at the real recital. I am so glad that I did, because I SO enjoyed just sitting there and watching the show, without worrying about taking pics or video!

My cutie!

A star in the making!

Madison performing her jazz dance, "School's Out for Summer." She got to be front and center at the beginning of the dance. Their dance was just precious!! When I get my video in the mail, I'll record it on my Flip and show y'all!

This pose was totally her idea and I love it!

Madison's tap dance......it was so cute with their hats and canes.

Madison got her 5-year trophy award this year!!! She's been looking forward to that for years!

So, I don't have any pics from the real recital day, other than pics of them in their costumes, but as I said, I am so glad that I just watched their dances and took it all in. Sometimes, I feel like I miss a lot of special moments because I'm always behind the camera. I just loved watching them dance and shine. I am just one proud Momma!!!
After the show, they all go up onstage and get to take a bow and do a fun dance called The Peppermint Twist. That's their favorite part of recital! Then, they like for Grandma to bring them flowers and she did. I was so busy with taking them to practice and getting everything ready for that with their makeup and costumes, that I didn't have a chance to get them a special gift like I normally do. I was trying to think of what I could do and I remembered that my Mom had given me a simple, thin gold bracelet and then she also had one exactly like it that I got when she passed away, so I wrapped those up and gave them each a gold bracelet after the show, along with their flowers. They really liked them and I told them that was something special from their Meme that they could keep forever!
After recital, their Grandma was having a birthday party for her sister, so the girls got to go swimming and had so much fun. I was so tired that I could barely keep my eyes open at that point. Haha!
Kaylee was practicing her swimming.

Lily was practicing putting her face in the water. LOL! We were lucky to get her off of that step. It takes her awhile to warm up to getting out in the water, even with someone holding her.

Madison was trying to give me a heart attack by showing me her swimming in the deep end.

So, that's what we've been doing all week! We were so tired, we didn't even go to church today. :( I am very excited though that Summer can finally begin now! I have 3 books that have been sitting on my bookshelf, just waiting to be read!! :)

A lot of hard work but worth it in the end! I'm sure they did fantastic!! That was sweet to give them those special bracelets.
Those pictures turned out really well. They look so cute and you are so right...a star in the making. Adorable.
Can't wait to see the video.
I see too much of the world through my lens. LOL
I love the pictures!!! Your girls are super cute! I loved dance recitals when I was younger. It looks like your girls love it too!
Wow! What a busy week!! So glad you were able to enjoy the recital! Sometimes you just need to be the mom, not the historian or every event!! The girls looked so cute and yea for Madison and her trophy. I love the gold bracelets, how sweet and what a precious gift!
Those are such cute pictures! It's funny how the mamas get all tired from what the kids are doing! hahaha!
Hope your week is a little slower this week!
So glad their recitals went so well! They looked so pretty all dressed up in their outfits!
Love your idea for their gifts and think that will be such a special thing to treasure!

You have such cute kids. Looks like you are having a great summer!
Busy...Busy...Busy! Life with kids is never dull. Looks like your little starlets had a blast! And yes, you are a proud mama and that's a good thing. (:>)
I think it is so much fun having little girls...and I have such fond memories of my girls growing up. Just keep enjoying every moment...they fly swiftly by.
Your girls look so much like their mama...Simply Beautiful!
aww, it looks like it was adorable!! I absolutely love the backgrounds!
LOVE all those dance pictures. The one on the stairs - looks so cool. I always wanted to do dance when I was younger. Never did - didn't have the money for lessons!
And still love that swimming pool at grandmas. Is this the same one with tomatoes and cucumbers?
Cute pictures. My daughter didn't take dance this year, the first time since she was little. i miss those moments.
You have been really busy. I can't wait till Lauren does some sort of dance or gymnastics. So cute and I love the outfits even though I hear they are a ton of money. I have been busy with being home, trying to keep the kids busy so I don't go nuts (: I miss talking to you.
Those girls look so adorable in their costumes. I LOVE that picture of Kaylee posing on the steps. I can't wait to see the video. SO MUCH FUN though it does sound super exhausting. I hope you are able to have a great, relaxing {about as much as you can get having three girls at home} summer!
