What I loved about the chapel we got married at is that it was an all-in-one deal. Everything was included. All I had to do was pick what I wanted and show up!
The actual chapel, once we were married, was converted into the reception area. They had our guests step into the lobby area and they set up all the tables and chairs and the cake table and all of that. Everyone commented on how well it was all handled and how quick they were.
The doors to the chapel were opened and you could go out into the lobby area where the food/buffet table was set up. It was very wide open and well thought out how they designed this chapel. I would love someday to build one and run it in my area. It's exactly what we need!
Our first dance was to George Strait's "I Cross My Heart." I love that you can see my parents in the background!
The Father/Daughter dance was to "Butterfly Kisses." This picture was of me giving my Dad a hug right after the dance.
Here's one of me chatting and eating with our minister. The chapel provided him too and he was wonderful!
They set up the cakes at the front of the chapel where we had gotten married. The cakes were something that I didn't really get to choose. This was their standard cake they provided and I was fine with that. I'm just not a picky person at all, in case you haven't noticed. The cake was three heart shaped cakes that were on a tiered cake stand. They also used my bouquet and sat in on the cake table for decoration, which I thought was neat. Morgan's cake was just a chocolate sheet cake. I don't think either one of us ate any cake, except for the bite when you feed each other. LOL!
Here's us cutting the cake. You can see my bouquet too. It almost looks like I'm holding it, but it was just on a stand on the table.
Here's the one bite of cake we got. Ha!
Here's us doing our toast. Morgan's glass was leaking....I guess the engraver got a little too deep and it had a crack, so we got some candle wax and plugged the hole so we could do the toast. LOL!
We had disposable cameras on all the tables, so most of the non-professional photos are from those. I love this picture. It's of me and my Mom talking to her best friend Linda and then Morgan is in the background talking to my Aunt Barbara. I love candid photos like that.
Here's a cute one of us with my Aunt Barbara.
We spent our first night in our new apartment together in Houston, then the next day we left for our Honeymoon in Vegas!Neither one of us had ever been , so we thought it would be fun to go (and it was!).
We stayed at the Luxor. It was really neat.
Here's Morgan inside the Luxor.
And one of him in front of the NY, NY hotel.
We had lots of fun. We only played the slot machines, but they were fun. We got to see Cirque du Soleil and some other shows. We spent alot of time walking up and down the strip and visiting inside the other hotels. They had some really neat shopping places. We rode the roller coaster on the NY, NY hotel and went to the top of the stratosphere.
But, my favorite part was visiting the Hoover Dam. Yes, we took the Dam tour! LOL.....one of my favorite movies is Vegas Vacation with Chevy Chase! Ha! It was so neat though. We got to go inside the Dam, and even go to the very bottom by the water. It was amazing to see and so beautiful.
So, that was our wedding and reception. We paid for everything ourselves, so we had to keep it affordable, but even if I had tons of money, I wouldn't have done it any other way! It was absolutely perfect and seeing all these pictures again was so much fun! The only thing I've realized though is that I have got to get back in shape! :0
Have a great weekend everyone! I'm off to finish cleaning the house because tomorrow we are having a little party for Lily's 3rd Birthday!

OMGoodness Kristin! I am totally LOL right now because although a lot of things about our weddings are different, there are some things that are totally the same! I smiled when you talked about the low budget aspect and having to pay for the wedding yourself. That was totally us. We also stayed at home the first night and then took off for the Honeymoon on Sunday.
I'm was also laughing when I saw the pic of you wearing the white colored shirt and denim shorts. I totally have a pic I was gonna include with my post today where I'm wearing the exact same thing, but I was too embarassed to post a pic of me wearing shorts, LOL!
Ditto on thinking about the need to get in shape! Boy do I have a LOT of work to do!
Love ya lots and I hope you're getting lots done today!!! I will talk to you soon!
Everything is so lovely! Including you!
Glad you scanned those photos! I've only been to Vegas once (for a trade show with my husbands's work) and since we don't gamble we spent all our time admiring all the hotels, eating out and seeing all the lions and dolphins. It was pretty amazing. We also had our 14 month old at the time, but it was fun to share.
I LOVE the pic with daddy. Those are the best. And the scenery outside the window is beautiful :o)
Your wedding was beautiful! Loved the story about the glass leaking! How crazy! =)
Everything was so pretty! Weddings are so much fun to go to.
LOL! Loved the tour joke you did. Too funny. Your honeymoon sounded like fun! :0)
That's neat how the chapel converted into the reception area. Never heard of that before!
I just wanted to say that I am a new follower of your wonderful blog!
