So, grab yourself a glass of iced tea, pull up a chair, and visit with us on Lynnette's front porch! You can go here to join in the fun.
We are supposed to write 10 things about ourselves. I feel like I've written everything there is to possibly know about me here on my blog, but I'll try my best to sum it all up :-)
1. I have 3 of the most precious girls in the world! They are each 3 years apart. Madison Ashley will be in 4th grade this year (how did that happen so fast?!!), Kaylee Brooke will be in 1st grade, and Lilian Paige (we call her Lily) will turn 3 on Sunday! I never thought I would have 3 kids. I was an only child, so I guess I just thought I'd probably have only one. But, they are just so much fun, that now I think I seriously could have like 5 kids and be deliriously happy!
3. I have the best husband in the world. He is so smart and helps to run the family engineering, construction, and plumbing business. He can fix anything, is an expert on cars and building things, so we never have to hire people to do anything that needs to be done around here because he literally can do it all. I am so proud of him for designing our house. It was alot of fun seeing his design come to life!
4. I am so proud that we now go to church as a family! I love hearing about what my girls have learned. This chapter of my life has been the best so far because the Lord is the central character of it!
5. I am a completely different person than I was before my Mom died 5 years ago. When she died, it was as if every single thing that I knew to be true was destroyed. I can try and pretend that I'm fine now without her, but the truth is that every single day is a struggle because something within my soul is now missing. There was something about her that made me know that everything was going to be okay. Now, it's like my inner being is terrified of living without her. But, the good news is that God will find purpose out of the most horrible tragedies. Every day, he finds ways to show me that if I will let Him, He will fill that missing piece. He will wipe that fear from me, if I will trust Him. I am trying so hard, I really am. I'm not used to this new me, but I know that God's plan is perfect.
6. I have my own online boutique, Summer Suzette Couture. I'm not sure where I'm going with it yet, but it's been lots of fun trying to figure it out! LOL! I was adopted when I was 13 months old and my parents changed my name to Kristin, but my birth name was Summer Suzette, so that's how I came up with my business name.
7. I LOVE hearing people's stories. Everyone has a story worth telling! It doesn't take much effort to examine our lives and see concrete proof that every detail was orchestrated by God. Every single one of us has a very real purpose for living our lives here on Earth. I love that!
8. I love the movie, Sweet Home Alabama. I love the fact that the character realizes that it's okay to just be herself. I just love Reese Witherspoon too. She seems so down-to-earth. That was the last movie I ever saw with my Mom, so that's probably also a reason I love it so much.
9. My girls give me a hard time about going to Starbucks every time we are out, but there's just something about it that makes me feel better. It's really the only thing that I do exclusively for myself and I think there's nothing at all wrong with that!
10. I have found some of my very best friends through blogging. I realized the other day that after my Mom died, one of the things that was so hard was not being able to call her up and tell her about something funny one of the girls said, or not having her to show my pictures to or share my fun day with. You all have been that for me! You're there when I just need to brag about something one of my girls did that was awesome, you're there to show my pictures to, you're there to encourage me and give me advice, you're there to help me grow and learn. I would not be who I am today without all of you! I love you all so much!!!!

Kristin, I want to cry! I loved reading all of these thing about you although I already knew all of them. I am so glad that you came into my life through this crazy blogging adventure. You are truly the best friend a girl could have!
I think I'm gonna try to work on joining in on the fun today. I will try to come up with some stuff that no one knows. Let's see if I can manage that!
Kristin...your girls are beautiful! I love those smiles...
How great that Morgan can do many things...what a gift he has!
Starbucks rocks! My girl and I try to pay a visit ever so often....just yesterday we shared an ice mocha frapuccino...yeap...I let her drink coffee here and there.
Ah...thank you for your thoughts on the tattoo post...now I am curious to know what yours is???? LOL!
That was a fun tour of you! ;)
I love the movie Sweet Home Alabama - and even though I just do decaf these days, stopping at the coffee shop really does something for my mood as well... it comforting somehow!
What a gorgeous house - lucky you to have such a handy man! ;)
Those are very neat things about you! Your girls are so cute! :0)
Such a great list Kristin! That is a cute picture of those girls! I hope Lily had a wonderful birthday on Sunday. Can't wait to see pictures of it all! Hope you have a great weekend!
oh! I'd like to link your boutique from my website if you don't mind..maybe it will send you some traffic!
I enjoyed reading those things about you! You have such a great heart! Glad we are blogger friends!
If I ever have a girl, I hope she's half as beautiful as your girls are!
It's so nice to have a hubby that can fix things, huh? It does save quite a bit of money! I'm so sorry you don't have you mom here on earth with you anymore. Every girl, whether big or small, looks to their mom and it has to be difficult not to have her here anymore. (((hugs)))
visiting from Lynnette's blog just wanted to say Hi glad to met you.
your house looks amazing! and what a cute pic of your 3 girls. :)
Good Morning Kristin,
I really do think that there is a time and purpose for everything under heaven. I never ever dreamed that I would be a blogger,...but I do think that the Lord wanted you and I to meet through blogland!
I love to read every one of your posts and catch up on what you and Morgan and the girls and the dog Bella are doing! ((smile))
I love your posts about Sunday services at church and what God taught you through the sermon and the music. Thanks for always sharing that,...please don't stop, it is a testimony of faith, and of spiritual growth. I never tire of it, and it encourages me and others to be so open to God's leading,...like you are.
I love your big Texas size heart! You truly care about everyone.
I think it is wonderful that Morgan is so talented and that he takes such good care of you. (And he's handsome on top of it all! ha!) You are blessed girl!
Your kids are so adorable. I love reading about them, and seeing their pictures from time to time as they have birthdays and events like dance recitals and sporting games etc., or just as they make tents in the livingroom! ((smile))
I know you miss your mama and I am so honored that you call me mama Linda and have those kinds of feelings towards me. I have a true love in my heart for you and I have had from the very first post I ever read on your blog. You just came across as being so real and so sincere,...and so darn sweet.
I miss my mom all of the time. She has been gone over twenty five years. All of my memories are fond ones and she is always as close as my heart. She is always with me that way. And I am sure you carry your mom with you in your heart everyday. All of the ways she loved you and all the things she taught you remain with you. I am who I am because of my mom,...and so are you, because of your mama.
My sister who has been gone since January always mothered me too, since she was 8 years older than me. I miss being able to talk to her too. We have lived so far apart for so many years, but we always talked on the phone. I forget and almost call her,...but then it hits me like a ton of bricks that she is gone. But I talk to her in my heart and mind as I think of her. And I always ask God to tell Mom, and Judy, and Anna, that I love them.
Ok, this is way too long for a comment. I had better close.
You have a great day my girl.
Love, Mama Linda
P.S. Veronica is my girl too and since you both are like sisters to each other,...it only makes sense for me to love you both!
Ahhh, you're so sweet! I love reading your 10 things about you and Veronica's 10 things about her. This is a great idea!
Kristin,
That is funny what you said about thinking of yourself as younger than you are. I definitely do that too. I can not believe that I am 40 something. I still feel 30ish.:) I love how you came up with your name for you boutique, What a great idea! Now I love it even more. Your whole list was great. I know you even better now! And I am glad,
Have a great weekend,
Christy
What a sweet post....Love your 10.
I enjoyed your post and will be back to read more. I have a GREAT giveaway going through Sunday night...$100 Surprise Gift....with a little Christmas to go along with it.
What a beautiful list, Kristin! I just posted mine yesterday afternoon. A little late to the porch party, I guess! I laughed about your comment about thinking of yourself still in your 20s...I do that too. I never feel as old as I really am (in some ways...but in others, I feel really old!) I remember being shocked when my son became a teenager. That seemed to catapault me into another realm!!!! I can so relate to the ache in your heart for your mom. And I know that we will always have a "missing place" inside until we meet them once more in heaven's glory. I rejoice with you that your family attends church together, knowing what a treasured gift that is, myself. I also love the movie, Sweet Alabama and visiting my bloggy-friends!!! Thanks for letting me hang out on your porch awhile!!!
Love to you...
Thank you for you vulnerability in your post. I so miss my grandma since she died three years ago. She was the one I ran to with stories and struggles. I know that changes you. You don't know where to run...but you are right that God is more than able to fill that spot in a mighty way. I am praying that for you today. Thanks again for your post. I really enjoyed getting to know you. :)
This is awesome! I loved reading these and many details I didn't know!
