A Stormy Day

Today was a crazy, stormy day here in Texas.
This is just going to be a random post with no pictures. I'll post some pics tomorrow.

I went to pick up Madison from a friend's house because she had a sleepover last night. Then, Kaylee had a Birthday party to go to for one of her little friends, who also goes to the new church that I've been attending. It was at a pottery place in the mall......the kids had a lot of fun painting! It was really nice because the Pastor's wife was there and also the Music Director's wife from church, so I got to chat with them for a little while. See how the Lord works? I LOVE how he organizes these kind of things.

We left the party and got to the exit of the mall and it was like a super flood out there! I picked Kaylee up and we waded our way out to the car. It was so funny! We were both dying laughing as we got soaked, even with an umbrella. My shoes were completely soaked as well as my pants.
I even had to turn the car around to find a different route from all of the street flooding. I have never seen so much rain out here in the almost 5 years we've lived here!

The power went off around 2pm and just came back on around 10pm. I thought I was going to have withdrawals from no blogging! LOL!! What's funny is our entire street got power back on around dinner time, except us and 3 other houses. They forgot to fix our pole, so they had to come back. Thank goodness......I was beginning to think this was a ploy from the Devil to try to make me miss church tomorrow. But, I wasn't going to let him win!! There's no way I'm missing tomorrow's sermon on Heaven! I got the girls a bath and we are definitely going tomorrow.

I just love how I decided to go to this church as a last minute decision, and it seems to be right where I should be. The Pastor even sent us a welcome card in the mail a few days ago and you will never believe what was inside.........A STARBUCK'S GIFT CARD!!!!

Some people may think I'm absolutely insane crazy, but it's these little things that happen every single day that make me know without a doubt that the Lord is listening and working out the details on my behalf. I hope I make Him proud. I have no idea what His plan is for me, but I'm going to try my best to listen to Him and follow His lead.

Some cool things have been happening this past week with my business too. I had several people at dance ask me about making bows for them, the local photographer whose studio is in a childen's boutique mentioned that they need a hairbow lady to make bows for the boutique too.

Madison's friend's Mom also said that she takes her neighbors bows up to her work and sells them and they do really well. She said people are always asking for baby stuff, and she suggested I make some stuff and she will take it up there.

I never in a million years expected people to be interested. I always do things backwards....I got my website set up and linked it up on my blog before I really knew what direction I was going to take it in, and I never expected people to be interested in it. I never expected to really have any readers to my blog either. Ha! It's just so surprising to me.

I don't know how my business will do. I never started this business to make money. I really started it to have something productive to do that I enjoyed that was just for me. I never knew I had a passion for baby things until I started my business. Then, after rededicating my life to Jesus, I started thinking that I wanted my business to honor Him, but Lynnette reminded me that I can be a Christian business without necessarily making Christian products. It's just a learning process that I'm trying to figure out. I can be my own worst enemy because I tend to shy away from things that I don't have completely 100% figured out.

Maybe y'all can help me out. I can't decide the best place to sell my products. I already have my website set up, but I've been second guessing it because I need something simple to maintain. It may be simple, but I will have to figure it out. Etsy is another option. Setting up a business blog and selling from that is also an option. Then, I can't decide if I should blog about business stuff on this blog too, or have a separate one. I'm just really trying not to get into too many things that I will have to maintain, but I'm kind of leery about sharing my personal stuff with anyone who gets on my website, you know? Then again, I would love for someone to go to my website, and then come to my blog and read about what the Lord has done in my life. You never know how that may help someone else.

Also, what kinds of products do y'all look for when you shop for baby and kid's stuff? I like to make bows and ponytail holders, decorate baby onesies, burp cloths, and things like that. One day, I hope to learn to sew well enough to make dresses and outfits from scratch, but I'm not there yet!

Anyways, sorry for the long rambling post. I hope everyone is having a great weekend!!
