It's Time to Let Go

Today started out a little slow with me dreading my errands. But, when you're almost out of toilet paper and pull-ups, what choice do you have?! So, L and I went to Target. While I was there I picked up the "Wow Hits 2009" Christian music CD, because I'm not very familiar with Christian artists and I figured this would be the best way to listen to a variety of them.

We left Target, went to Starbucks, and then it was off to school to pick up the big girls. I listened to my CD and was just really loving it. It put me in a great mood!

I got home, pulled into the driveway, and got out to check the mailbox. I noticed a package on the front porch and I thought to myself that I didn't remember ordering anything. Then, I opened the mailbox and had a package inside. I flipped it over, and it was from my best friend, Jennifer! I got back in the car to drive up to the garage and told the girls about the package on the door and the package from Jennifer. They were excited and ran to get the package off the porch, while I opened the other one.

For Christmas, I made Jennifer a Twilight "Team Edward" necklace to give to her sister. She wanted to pay me for it, and I wouldn't let her. She came to pick it up, and since I wouldn't accept the money, she hid it on a table and then called later to tell me where she had put it! So, the other day, I took that money and bought her a Starbucks gift card and mailed it to her. So, the package she sent me today was payback for that! LOL I told her just to wait a few days and she'll be getting one back!

She sent me the movie "P.S. I love You" because she keeps telling me to watch it, and I keep forgetting to buy it when I'm at the store! I love my best friend! Thanks, Buddy :)

The package on the porch was from Grammie and Pappaw (my Stepmom and Dad). There were Valentine's cards for the girls, two cookbooks for them, Valentine's Day shirts for them to wear, and these adorable aprons that Grammie made for them! They were so excited and they loved them!! Also, I was extremely excited because one of the items on my Target list that I had no luck finding was shirts for them to wear on Valentine's Day, and then I opened the package and there they were! Thanks Grammie and Pappaw!!

Also, in the package, was the book "The Love Dare", which I am excited to read.

Don't pay attention to how bad I look in this picture! Focus on Bella sitting behind me! LOL
Here are some pictures of the girls in their aprons! I thought Grammie would get a kick out of seeing these.
Strike a pose, girls!

So, why was this such a great ending to the day? Well, today I decided that it's time for me to let go. I have spent four years mourning the loss of my Mom. I have spent four years just going through the motions and not really living life. I have analyzed my feelings every single way that they could possibly be analyzed, written numerous posts on here about them, and I'm just exhausted from it. I decided that today would be the day that I begin to get my joy back. It's time for me to quit thinking about how things would be if she were still here, and simply live life's moments for what they are. It's time for me to create new memories with my girls. It's what I need to do, and it's what my Mom would want. I love my Mom and I will always miss her, but it's time for me to let go and live life again.
Today was a great start!

First I want to say that it's awesome to have friendships like that. What a blessing!

Second, The Love Dare is amazing! It will change your marriage!! Trust me! Have you seen the movie Fireproof? If you haven't, PROMISE me that you will rent it! It's awesome.. if your husband can watch it with you that's even better..

On to your mother..I cried reading what you wrote. My mother is still living but every day I fear the day she leaves this world.. I know where she is going, I just cannot imagine life without her.. I feel like I won't be able to function. I can't stand the thought..

Ok this isn't a cop out I promise. Rachel over there said everything I wanted to so perfectly that I'll just say, "Ditto!"

I'll pray for you in this new phase of your grieving process.
