Students, Lice, and Pinterest! How's That for a Crazy Title?!

Goodness gracious, I stink at keeping my blog up these days!  I rarely get on my laptop anymore because it's so much easier to be on my phone when I'm holding Matthew.  I don't really have much exciting news lately either, because my days consist of just hanging out with Matthew, picking up the girls from school, and going to dance if it's dance night.  That's about it!

Madison did make Student of the Month for her grade for January.  That was exciting!  I was so proud of her.  She has made it almost every year, except last year.  I think sometimes because she is so quiet and such a good student, she has the potential to be overlooked for things just because everyone just expects her to do those things already.

The girls are doing great in school.  They continue to always make great grades (high A's, even some 100's) on their report cards.  Lily is doing so great too!  She still doesn't talk much, but she is reading so well now!  I'm so proud of her.  When she started school, she could barely read a few words.  Now, she is really learning to sound out her words and that has made her so much more confident.

LOL.....I got a note saying someone in Lily's class has lice.  Ugh!  Well, just now she came and asked me if we could cut her hair shoulder length.  I was like, no, I think you will like your long hair better.  But I told her if she gets lice, then we will be cutting it.  Haha!  She's like, do I have any?  And I told her no.  And she was like, awwww!!!  She wants lice so I will cut her hair.  LOL!  She cracks me up!  Oh my, please say a prayer we don't get lice!!  :D  One time, Madison got it in 1st grade and I had no idea that's what it was.  I just thought she wasn't rinsing her hair good.  And I used to use the same brush for all of us and I would do their hair every morning!  Well, one day I was doing her hair for school and a bug falls on my shirt. Ewwww!!!!!  Sure enough, she had it, Kaylee had it, and I had it!  Agggghhhh!!!!!  We spent all day washing and picking and spraying and washing some more and even put mayonnaise on our hair cause I heard they don't like that.  Haha!!  It is so amazing that you can have it and not know it.  Gross!!  And my head had been itching for a few days and I kept telling Morgan to look at it and he's all like, there's nothing there.  Men!  Haha!!

Well, that was not where I intended to go with this post, but whatever.  Ha!!  I always wonder where does that first person who gets lice get it?  My head is itching just thinking about it.  Maybe I'll buy some special shampoo and use it just to be safe.  LOL!

Anyhow, I love pinterest these days.  I don't really intend to do any of the projects from it, but it keeps me occupied looking at it when I'm holding Matthew and he's asleep.  I tried one recipe from there and it did not work as it was supposed to.  Oh well.  And it wasn't my fault either!  Ha!  It was a chicken and dumplings recipe and all was great until I added the dumplings.  They stuck together and did not cook right.  It was a crock pot recipe, so there's really no way to mess that up unless the recipe is just not right.  We make dumplings on the stove and they do fine.  I think you need that rolling boil to keep them moving so they don't stick together and dissolve, and you just don't get that in a crock pot obviously.  The thing I like most about pinterest is the humor section.  It cracks me up so much!  I like the inspirational and scripture quotes too.

Well, gotta go give Lily a bath.  And check for lice.  again.  Just to make sure!  :D

This post totally has me cracking up! It's so totally all over the board and it feels like it's a conversation more than a blog post but I love it! Haha!

Yay for Madi and her award. That's exciting!

I'd better get to bed soon and not think about lice. Otherwise I might find myself scratching my head too, lol!!!

Funny...but then that really is how random our day to day lives are. I always wonder if God laughs or rolls His eyes at our train of thought. :) I know there is NEVER any rhyme or reason to mine!!!

Hopefully the lice bug won't come to visit. We have been there and it is such a pain.

Hope you have a GREAT weekend!

Blah, lice!! I would never know if Molly had it in her big nest of a head!! You should cut Lily's hair! She would look cute :) I hear ya, I tried some recipes from Pinterest and some were okay and some bad! But I still love it and those sayings, hilarious!! Congrats to Madi, how cool!! Good luck with not getting lice! What's Morgan know, he has no hair for the lice! :)

That's so great all the girls are doing so well in school. Eek on the lice! I had it twice in school. Not fun at all so I hope you can avoid it this time.

I am in love with pinterest. Can't believe I waited so long to accept an invite. Scared of change.
