In Honor of Labor Day!

I saw this over at We Are THAT Family's blog and thought it would be fun, especially since it will only be a couple of months before I do it again! :D

In honor of Labor Day, I'm sharing the hardest work I've ever done!

How long were your labors?

Madison - 3 hours ; 7 lbs. 13 oz
Kaylee - 2 hours ; 8 lbs. 13 oz.
Lily - 30 minutes to an hour ; 8 lbs. 12 oz.

Can you see why I'm a little worried to be stuck somewhere when I go into labor with Matthew?! I am seriously considering asking for a scheduled induction with him, just because I'm scared to death of not making it to the hospital in time (it's about 15 minutes away). With Lily, my water never broke, so I can't really use that as a gauge to tell how much time I have!

How did you know you were in labor?

Madison - I had pains the day before, but didn't realize they were labor pains. I woke up the next morning having pains and realized it had to be the real thing, especially when I started shaking uncontrollably. She was 10 days early.

Kaylee - She was several days late and I was miserable and huge, so the doctor agreed to induce. Once I started feeling pains, my water broke, and she came super fast......the doctor almost didn't make it!

Lily - Lily was also a few days late and Madison was about to start 1st grade, so I begged the doctor to induce me so I could be home by the first day of school. Ha! I had her on Wednesday, came home Friday, and school started Monday! Once the meds kicked in at the hospital, she came so fast the nurses had to deliver her!

Where did you deliver?

Madison - Houston hospital
Kaylee - Baytown hospital
Lily - Baytown hospital

Drugs?

I delivered all 3 with no pain medicines. I'm hoping with Matthew, that I can get an epidural before I feel even the first pain. LOL! I wanted an epidural with Kaylee and Lily, but they both came so fast that it was too late. With Madison, I was determined to deliver her naturally, and since she was not induced, the pain was bearable and I was able to tolerate it well.

Madison - doctor in Houston
Kaylee - doctor in Baytown
Lily - nurses in Baytown......my doctor didn't make it on time
I still have the same doctor now that I had for Kaylee and Lily. :)

It will be so interesting to see how Matthew's story turns out! I am trying not to think about it.....it makes me too anxious! :D There are so many more variables now that I have 3 little girls to pick up from school and take to dance, etc. I'm just hoping we can either schedule it or that if I do go into labor naturally, that we make it there with plenty of time to spare! Who knows.....he could be the longest one yet, you just never know! I'm just excited for him to be here and trying not to get too excited since I still have 9 weeks to go. I am also thinking he may our smallest one yet, since I gained 50 lbs. each with the girls and have only gained 10 with him. It will be fun to see!!
