Our 4th!

Our 4th was pretty low-key. The girls and Morgan went to his Mom's house the day before for a family party and they got to swim and had lots of fun. I stayed home because I've just been really tired lately. Yesterday, Morgan worked outside all day and the girls played on the wii. Then, Morgan took them for snow cones and when they got back, I went to the store to get some steaks to grill.

By the time we ate dinner, it was already after 8pm. I took a few pictures of the girls before dinner. :)

Then, we headed out to our new city park for fun and fireworks. I didn't want to park inside the park because I knew it would take hours to get out, so we parked nearby and walked. It was a long walk and then since we got there so late, most everyone was taking down their booths and fun stuff to do. :( But, we at least got to see some of our church friends and chat with them for a few minutes.

Normally, we just park at the high school to watch fireworks, but this year since the new park was going to be open, I thought it would be more fun to take the girls to that. It was kind of a bummer that we got there so late though. We were walking back toward where we parked before the fireworks started and then I told Morgan we should at least let the girls play on the playground for a few minutes. The only problem was for some reason they didn't have the lights on and it was so dark!

Anyhow, we found a nice park bench to sit on and watch the fireworks, which were just right nearby. This picture was taken with my iphone and is so dark because it was literally so pitch black that I could barely see what I was taking a picture of. Ha!
The fireworks were really pretty. I think next year we will probably just park at the high school again though......especially since we will have a baby then! :D

Hope everyone else had a nice holiday and enjoyed the fireworks!

sounds like a wonderful day!!! Everyone is so beautiful! We watched fireworks from our front porch... someone in the neighborhood was setting them off and they weren't too bad! :)

Do you think the heat is making you so tired? It zaps my energy when I go outside.

The girls looked cute in their red, white and blue! (Of course those pretty girls always look so sweet.)

That's nice that you wemt to the park to see the big fireworks. We were going to go to the big park here to see them, but we didn't need to, cuz the whole neighborhood had so many big fireworks going off all around us.

Plus all of the kids were busy shooting off the ones Grandpa bought.

We had steaks too. John got a new grill so he wanted to try it out.

I wish we'd have had a nice 4th. The girls weren't even in matching outfits this year. Boo! Hopefully next year things will be way calmer for us and we can enjoy my favorite holiday again!

The pics of the girls were cute, like always! That last one you can totally tell how smoky it was! :)
