Earlier, I took this picture of Kaylee in her new dress/leggings we got her last night. I'm not sure why it's all weird looking at the top, but I thought she looked cute :)
Kaylee was trying out for UIL spelling, creative writing, and oral reading this year. Her teacher held tryouts in their class and then Kaylee was allowed to try out officially for those teams. I was very proud of her because she made it to the final 5 on spelling and she's not technically in the GT class (although I think they made a mistake since she's making all 100's in her class!). Anyhow, she made the creative writing team! Yay! We never did hear back if she made spelling, but they can't be on two teams, and she said she would rather be on the writing teamanyways. I am just so proud of her! She LOVES to read and when she told me what her story was about that she wrote for tryouts, I was amazed at how creative it was!
Madison tried out for several teams again too. She has been on the spelling team the past two years. She got 1st place in 3rd grade and 3rd place last year, but she made it all the way to the final tryout round and then didn't make it this year. She missed one word and that was enough! I am still so proud of her though and I told her that it's nice to give someone else a chance this year. Ha! She didn't even have time to study for the tryout rounds, so it's probably best she didn't make it since she's so busy with dance this year.
I'm so glad that my girls are doing so well in school. One of my main goals in life is to never stop learning and I hope that my girls will have a love of learning just like I do. I always used to joke that I could be a professional student. I love school!!!
Madison has always picked up things really quickly, without really any help from me, and she just knows things.......just like her Dad. She isn't a big reader though, unless it's a book series that she just really loves. And she is just so laid-back. Even when she didn't make spelling, she was like, "oh well." She has always been in the GT class and consistently makes high A's in them without really even studying. She loves to draw fairies and is currently writing a book about fairies. :)
Kaylee is more like me. She loves to learn, tries really hard, and takes it really seriously (that is SO like me) and she LOVES to read. She begged me for all the Harry Potter books for Christmas. She is also our resident artist and loves to paint! She is very creative and sensitive, and a constant rule-follower. She likes things to be a certain way and she will not deviate from what she believes is the proper way! At any given time, she has about 10 books piled up in her backpack. LOL!
Lily is doing well too! She knows how to count to 10, write many of her letters and her name, knows most of the letter sounds, and can say her ABC's. She can already add and subtract simple math and do pattern worksheets and things like that at school. She still won't say much at school, but she talks non-stop at home.
It's so fun to see their own little personalities coming out. I like to sit and just think about their uniqueness and wonder how God might use that as they grow up. I hope I can encourage them to always be themselves, to be who God made them to be, instead of trying to be like others or who they think we want them to be.

It is great to watch your children " Blossom ". I always wanted to be a teacher well I must say I got the job 24/7 but I wouldn't want it any other way. Sounds like your children are doing great keep up the good work. Great pics.

It sounds like they are doing really great and seem to have a love for learning as well. It is really neat to see how the three of them differ not only in the personalities and interests but also their academics as well. You are raising three wonderful, bright little girls!
What you said here at the end is one of my greatest desires too! I constantly pray that the Lord will make the girls' gifts and talents know to me so I can bring out the best in them!
I think it's so awesome how your girls are doing so well in school! That is something to be excited about!
P.S. I think Lily's stocking turned out so cute and I just love Kaylee's outfit! I always love how your girls dress!
You are greatly blessed with these three wonderful girls Kristin.
As a mom you are a great encourager, and I like the way you let them explore things and help them accomplish the things they like to do.
I liked the pictures. They will tell the story of their lives when they are grown and you will be so glad to have all of your pictures.
When I moved once someone broke in to our house an took a bunch of our stuff, and one thing was my picture albums, so I have very few pictures of my girls when they were babies and little girls.
Glad you enjoy learning Kristin. I can tell that by the way you take notes in church and always write such a good review of the sermon for us. You make a good teacher too.
I hope you and Morgan and your sweet girls will have a wonderful weekend together.
Love, Momma Linda
Glad they love school and learning so much. Learning is fun, and so many adults forget that.
That is one of the most fun things of being a mommy... seeing them develop their personalities! :) great update post. that stocking is super cute! :)
Cute photos! I really like that awesome stocking!
BTW, I clicked on "Your Story" at the side and was interested to see that you are adopted. So am I, and I don't seem to run across adopted adults very often out in blog-land! :)
Here you are!!!! I am so behind times, I hadn't realized (or remembered) you were changing titles to your blog so I've been checking your old name (I have it on my Blog List) and I kept seeing that your blog is open only to invited readers. Finally I remembered that I could go to your profile and maybe get your email address and ask, "Could I be invited PLEASE?" :) when I saw that you just have a new blog or new name to the same blog.
So fun to catch up...I haven't gotten to go all the way back but I will be back to read again. I have a really pretty fussy baby so I don't get on all that often.
Fun pictures, fun videos! :) Your girls are even more darling "alive" (in videos) and they are plenty darling already in still life (pics)!
