A Lifesaver and a Lesson Learned!

Just wanted to share something with you all. This calendar has been my lifesaver lately! I found mine at Target, but here is where I got this picture from. It's a post-its brand and I love it because it's weekly and you can write up to 4 people's schedules on it! Before, I was trying to write all of our stuff in one little box and now I have a box for each person, each day. I have a line for Madison, Kaylee, Lily, and Family. It works perfectly! And it has little post it notes attached so you can write on them and post them wherever needed. And when you're done with the week, you can just tear off the sheet. It's pretty big, but I attached magnet strips to the back so I could hang it on my fridge. Love it!

I'm not getting anything for endorsing it.......just thought I'd share!
Something else I wanted to share: The other day, Lily was singing us a song in the car. When she finished, I told her how much I loved her song. I could tell the girls were thinking, that wasn't that great Momma! The Lord used that moment though, to remind me of something. When I told Lily her song was great, I really meant it, because I knew it came from her heart and it was her best effort, and I love her and everything she does is precious to me! I didn't compare her to the original artist....I looked at it from how far she had come and what a big girl she was to sing that song all by herself. It just made me realize that that is how the Lord views our efforts! He doesn't see us trying our best to do something and then judge us based on others and tell us that we didn't do as good as them. When we step out and do something for Him, because He loves us so much, He is proud of us and He sees how far we've come and He sees our efforts. So, next time you are tempted to try something and then you decide against it, for fear that it might not be as good as someone else or the best or the most perfect, I want you to remember how far you've come and that the Lord sees your effort and He is proud of you, just simply because you are you and He thinks you are precious!!

Trust me, I am the world's worst at being a perfectionist! If I can't be the very best at something, chances are, I won't even try. The Lord used that moment though to remind me that I won't always be the best. I will fail at this and I will make a fool of myself and I will be awkward and feel dumb. But, He sees my efforts and I know He wants me to try anyways! My fear of failure and trying to be a perfectionist are sabotaging my growing in faith. Often times, it's not about the big things we do for God........it's about all those little things, the times we just step out without worrying or fearing failure. Let's not let the enemy convince us that we aren't good enough, because God will take what we do and He will multiply it for His glory!!

I could have used one of those calendars years ago when I was running my girls here and there...but not so much these days. John and I don't have too many things on our calendars these days.

I love the lesson...you are so good at bringing spiritual truths alive.

Preach it, sister! :) I just the how the Lord used Lily to remind you of the truth! You know I struggle with perfection too so this was such a great reminder for me too!

That organizer calendar sounds great! My calendar is always a big ole mess so maybe I should look into getting one of those too!

Great post. It's amazing to me how differently you see things once you have kids. I really don't think I could fathom God's love for me until I had the boys.

I've seen that calendar! I'll have to get one someday...when my boys have schedules too. So glad they don't right now! LOL!
