I don't know if anyone noticed, but I had to put my blog on "private" for a few days there. I noticed that someone from Germany was clicking on a whole bunch of pics of the girls and it freaked me out a bit. The thing is, I wasn't thinking about disgusting people when I decided to name my blog what I did. I'm sure I don't have to spell it out for you what people search for that leads them to my blog, simply because of its title.
Most of those people leave immediately. But, some do not. From the beginning of my blog, I have prayed that the Lord would shield us from evil people. I still pray that He is. And I have faith that He will. But, I took a few days to change some things on my blog so that my pictures cannot be enlarged or right clicked on. I also cleaned up my labels and took off the one that people who should not be here would be clicking on.
The number one mistake I made when setting up this blog is allowing google to crawl it. Please, please if you have kids on your blog, change your settings so that google cannot crawl it! So many of my pictures are out there on google images for anyone in the world to click on. That is how most of the people from other countries end up at my blog. Originally, I wanted to share the gospel and I wanted this blog to be a ministry and that is why I allowed google to search it. I once learned that someone reached my blog by searching "The Unstoppable Power of Christ". Blogs are powerful ministry tools! But, I am a Mom and I have to protect my children and I should have been thinking more clearly. I forget that there are evil, evil people out there.
Make sure you are paying attention to who looks at your blog and where they came from and what they searched in order to get there! I have statcounter on mine, but now blogger has the "stats" tab at the top that does pretty much the same thing. Statcounter will tell you exactly what paths people take to get to your blog though, what they download while they're there, and what key words they typed to get there, and how long they spent there.
I'm sure everyone already knows these things, but I just wanted to share. Just be careful! If you don't hear from me for awhile and my blog goes private, please just ask me to add you to it! I don't want to lose touch with all of my sweet friends!!! I don't plan on making it private, but I will if I have to. If I have to start a new blog, I will. But, for now I'm just waiting to see if it resolves itself.
I sure would welcome your prayers for the situation too! I've missed everyone! I've just been super busy too on top of dealing with this craziness, so hopefully everything will get back to normal this week. Hope everyone has a great weekend!!!

i will have to look into that google crawl thing. I'm not sure I understand. I have been watermarking more and more... I started doing that before and it was too much work so I quit but I want to start doing that as I can. I also wish I knew more about blogging before I started my family blog. I never would have used our real names!!
that's awful! I am praying for you and your girls and those who come to your blog! Thank you for the tip about google! When we get Tucker home that's what I'll make that change!
I am so sorry that is happening to you. If you go private, then I would like to added. You could move to Wordpress and do private entrys.
Praying that this gets better for you.
Oh heavens. . . . this has turned my stomach! I'm so sorry, Kristen!
Thank you sooooo much for telling us all about this. I've just spent a good while going through all the settings on my blog, removing the crawl feature, and so on. That's just flat out scary!
Yikes! Never thought of that! Well, I'm turning around and going right to my dashboard to see if I can figure this out...
I didn't even realize things like that could happen! If you go private, please be sure to email me!
Hey! Sorry it took me all weekend to get back to you. I'm glad you got everything figured out and pray that our children will be safe from all the crazies out there!
Wow! That is just absolutely awful. It's such a shame that people even have to worry about these types of things. I don't think I have ever noticed the Stats option at the top of blogger. Thanks for pointing that one out!
I've thought about those things before. It's the scary thing about having a blog!
I didn't know you could stop Google from crawling and see how people are getting on your blog! Glad you said something!!!
