who just had her 1st Birthday, it seems,
is turning 7 years old today!!!!!!!!!!!!!!Where has the time gone?!!! I can't believe that so many years have gone by so fast! Kaylee was born on June 3, 2003 at around 4am. She was several days past her due date and I was miserable, so after my routine appointment, my doctor told me to check into the hospital at midnight that night for induction. I guess he thought I'd have the whole night to progress and then he could come and deliver her in the morning. She had other plans though!
They probably didn't even get the pitocin going good until almost 2am and then all of a sudden it really kicked in and my water broke. When that happened, she was all of a sudden coming and everyone was scrambling to get the doctor there and fast! He rushed in there and said something like he didn't expect to have to come up there in the middle of the night. LOL! He got ready just in time and she was here! I have been very lucky to have fast deliveries and to have been able to do them all without pain meds. She weighed almost 9 pounds!!
The first thing I remember when they first handed me Kaylee was her sweet little pointed nose. My Mom kept Madison for us that night, so the next morning she came up there with Madison. That was such a sweet moment for me. Madison was not quite 3 yet and she kept saying, "she's moving!" They have been best friends ever since!
What can I say about Kaylee? She is just precious and so unique! She is the only one of the girls who has green eyes. They were blue until she's was around 3! She has freckles and a straight nose, whereas the other girls have no freckles and button noses. (Although, if you look at their baby pictures, it really is hard to tell them apart!) She has the most beautiful, long, naturally curly hair. She is so smart, a great artist, loves to read, has great fashion sense, is a picky eater, likes things organized and neat, loves to dance, is very loving and kind, and has lots of friends.
She has grown up and changed so much over this past year! This picture was taken on her birthday last year. Every year on their birthdays, we let the girls pick which restaurant they want to eat dinner at. Kaylee's favorite place is a local Mexican one called Luna's.
Tomorrow for computer camp, they are taking a field trip to the Houston Zoo, so she's excited that it is going to be on her birthday! Then, we'll be going to Luna's!
