Updates and Other News

Wow, I think it might be a record to go almost all week without posting! I don't know what my deal is, but I just have no motivation at all to write a post. This is going to be so random too!

1. Last Saturday, we went to a birthday party for our bible study friend's little boy and I captured this picture of Isabella getting a kiss from the doggie. Isn't that so funny?!! LOL!

2. I took this video of part of our Mother's Day service at church on Sunday. I love the singing part of our service every Sunday. I wanted to mention a really cool story too. I was trying to find the post here on my blog and I couldn't, but about a year ago I was at Target and 2 ladies came up to me and said they were fans of my blog. LOL! One of those ladies was Dana. I have kept in touch with her ever since through email and facebook. She is one of the sweetest ladies! Anyhow, the other day on facebook she asked me if our church needed a drum set. You will not believe what she did.......she donated her drum set to us! I was blown away by her generosity and just thought it was so awesome the way God connected us in the most unusual way and that she blessed us with that! Anyhow, you can see it in the video :)

3. Update on Lily's nails. It's been 2 weeks and they are making their way down the nail bed pretty quickly! They're almost to the half way point.
The nail is completely separated near the cuticle, where new nail growth is coming in. But, they are still attached from about the middle to the tip. Very crazy!
4. In other news, do y'all remember baby Zach, my cousin's son that was born with CMV and spent his first few months in the NICU? Well, he just celebrated his 1st Birthday and is doing great! I just talked to my Aunt Barbara today (she is his grandma) and she said he weighs 15 pounds, is doing great developmentally, his eyesight is great, and I believe he has hearing in one ear.

5. We have recital pictures for dance this weekend. Yay! I can't wait to get some cute pictures of them in their costumes! They have SUPER CUTE costumes this year!

6. I started today on a gluten-free diet. I've decided to try it. I have thought all these years that my stomach issues were due to stress/anxiety and they may very well have been, but I am still having them even without stress. I've been having all kinds of crazy symptoms lately too, like extreme fatigue, brain fog, sudden weight gain in my belly, swollen fingers and ankles, and headaches. These are all in addition to stomach issues. It could be my thyroid, but when I was researching gluten sensitivity, it just sounded so much like that. I thought I would just test it out and see if I feel better. It can't hurt and I don't have time right now to go see a doctor. If it doesn't help, I will make an appointment though.

7. I'm taking a break from custom orders at Summer Suzette Couture. This time of year is so crazy busy that there's no way I can keep up with orders coming through. Part of the reason for having this kind of business was so that I could adapt it to fit my family. It was never supposed to be something that stressed me out and caused me to feel guilty for being away from my family, so I am rethinking my priorities. I still have some premade shirts on there though to choose from, that are ready to be shipped out. I think that the only way I may be able to make it work is to just make premades when I have time. The truth is, I just never have time for custom orders. Doing custom orders usually means I'm either up half the night, or I'm ignoring Lily during the day in order to do them, and I'm just not happy with that. However, I really do enjoy making things when I have time, because I miss being creative if I don't do it for awhile. Anyhow, some changes are coming.........I'm just not sure what they are yet! It may be easier in the fall, once Lily starts preschool. Can you believe she's about to start preschool?!!

Well, that's enough rambling for one day! Hope y'all are having a great week and have a great weekend!!!

I actually liked this post, for it showed me a lot of little pieces of your world.

There is never any pressure to write everyday, so give yourself a break, sweetie. Although I just love reading about your life with your precious girls.

Hope the new diet helps you feel better.

prayers and blessings

I love random posts! I kept checking your blog over the past couple of days thinking there must be something wrong with my google reader! LOL! SOOOO great to hear that Zach is doing well! Such wonderful news! Oh and Lily's nails too! I really can't believe that it is almost time for our girls to be in preschool!!!

I feel a lot like you about your business when it comes to school work. I am up all night long studying and what not and then I am not exhausted to play with the youngins all day!

I hope your stomach issues cease to exsist now that you have started your diet!!!

OH and I love that picture of the doggy!

Hi Kristin, Sorry you are having tummy issues. I hope eating gluten free will help.

I got Abigail's old laptop today, and it is working great, so I am so excited to be able to blog again.

However, sometimes I am not in the mood...or don't know what to blog about. But it is fun to just do a random post like you did today!

I love hearing about your life...and your church.

That was so neat for your blog friend to give your church a drum set. God works in misterious ways!

Abigail is re-doing my blog. I am so excited about that too. AND then Jared is going to compose a music theme for me too. (It is fun being a grandma to such talented kiddos!)

Well hon, this is all for now.
So glad baby Zach is doing so well. God is good!

Love, Momma Linda

That is so cool about the drum set. What a blessing for sure.
Good luck with that diet. I hope that is the answer.
I have been wondering where you were.
Love dance costumes can't wait to see them.

Love how the Lord worked things out with your friend and the drum set. What a blessing to your church!

Glad to hear that Lily's doing well and I really hope that you will feel better with this new diet!

I also totally understand about your business and that's exactly the reason why I'm going to do what I'll be doing.

Love ya and I'm so happy about Zach's progress! Can't believe he's one already!!!

Glad to hear Lily's nails are all growing back nicely. Hope your new diet helps your tummy issues and can't wait to see the girls in their dance costumes. :) Hope you have a great weekend.

I don't know how I missed your latest post last night. Must of been my lack of sleep...pain killer medication combination. HA! I don't update often...as you can see so I can completely understand the lack of desire to write. But thank you for the updates...it's good to know how you all are doing.

So happy that baby Zach is doing so well. That is such a Praise report. As well as Lily's nails growing...and the gift of the drum set. It's wonderful to see the Lord's work unfold.

And the Gluten free diet. I've been reading so much on that lately because of my boy's diagnosis. I still have not decided to start on it because we are still waiting to begin therapy but here is a link that was given to me buy a sister at church...it has recipes and a list of things you can buy at the markets of gluten free items. Perhaps it will be helpful to you.
