Mission Field in my Backyard

I was watching the news coverage of Haiti the other day, and one of the other main news stories was on the new Planned Parenthood mega building that is going up in Houston. It is an old bank building that is 6 stories high, 80,000 sqft. and will be the largest abortion clinic in the US and the 2nd largest in the world.

It amazes me how these directors market their clinics as "health care", when it is obviously clear, especially after the news story that happened recently in College Station, that their goal is to make money. Yes, they may provide health care too, but they do not make money unless abortions are done. It's that simple. One of the main allegations of the director from College Station who stepped down after seeing an abortion being performed on ultrasound, was that she was told to push abortions because they needed more money. Let's not be manipulated. Abortion clinics exist to make money.

There is a lot of talk that this location was chosen to target minorities. It sits in a part of Houston that is in the middle of 4 minority neighborhoods (85% minority). Now, I don't know about this claim, but what I do know, after looking up the address, is astonishing to me. This clinic is going to be right near The University of Houston main campus, which is also right by the food stamp office that I used to work at, which is one of the busiest food stamp offices in the State of Texas. So, I don't about you, but it clearly seems as if there was some major thought behind the best location for this new mega clinic. We have an area that is going to be easily accessible to young college girls and one of the poorest areas in the state of Texas.

Abortions will be performed there up to the 19th week, which most of us know is clearly a fully-formed baby. That is when most of us found out if we were having a girl or a boy. But, the point is that a lot of young girls don't know this because they aren't educated on fetal development, and I guarantee you that Planned Parenthood is not in the business of educating these girls.

My prayer is that more pregnancy resource centers will be able to reach these girls, educate them, and share with them the truth of life in a loving way.

For you created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother's womb. I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well. My frame was not hidden from you when I was made in the secret place. When I was woven together in the depths of the earth, your eyes saw my unformed body. All the days ordained for me were written in your book before one of them came to be. Psalm 139:13-16

Kristin,
Being 20 weeks pregnant myself, and feeling this little miracle move all around inside me, I cannot fathom an abortion being performed at up to 19 weeks. That is a mere 15 minutes from where I live, and apparently I have been living in a cave!! I will also be praying for all the women and young girls who will step foot through the doors of that clinic. Thank you for sharing about this heartbreaking issue right in our backyards, I will be sending my readers your way.

That's very sad, very sad. They don't care about people. I know they say they do, but not in doing stuff like this. Yes, a 19 week baby in 'utero' will be a tiny baby with all the parts. Very sad! What health care!!!!
