Making Progress

Last January, we took our living room, that used to go all the way up to the 2nd floor, and we added a room above it. I loved the way our open living room looked, the way you could look down from the top floor, but it was so hard to heat and cool and I've found that the lower ceiling in the living room makes it feel so much more comfy and cozy. Anyways, we added the room and then just didn't do anything with it after that.

Here's what it looked like before.
Looking up at the top windows.
During.....it's amazing what can be done when you have talented people working on it! It only took them about 5 days to completely finish this job. That's one of the major perks of having a husband in the construction business.
And here was the room that was added above. It only took us a year, but last night, Morgan finally took down the balloons that had gotten stuck on that ceiling fan at Kaylee's party in 2008. How were we supposed to reach them before?!
So, it took us a year to get to this point, but in two hours today, the flooring guys totally transformed the room upstairs! I love the way it looks. This is going to be Morgan's room, because in a house full of girls, he deserves it, don't ya think?!!

He has his TV ready to go. He just has to paint, finish a few other things, and find some furniture to sit on. LOL! Oh, and he's going to build us some shelves to keep our DVD's on. I think this room will really come in handy for when the girls have sleepovers. They can all pile in there and watch TV and have fun.

Aww! Yes I agree He deserves a room all to himself. what a great way to add extra square footage to your house. I can't believe it only took them 5 days. That is awesome!

That's cool! And I totally laughed out loud about the balloons! That happened at my parents house, but luckily the balloon wasn't stuck on anything and it eventually deflated. :)

P.S. Where's your room to get away from everything? :)

THat is sooo great! I've always loved the living rooms with super high ceilings but I never thought about how hard it would be to keep it cool or warm! I hope he enjoys his new room. I wonder if I could talk Dustin into changing his major to construction HA!
