I loved that so much!! That's going to be my goal for 2010, to bloom where I am planted!
I hope if you haven't seen the movie, you will watch the clip I am talking about. Fast forward it to 2:30 and you can see it. It's really good!
Well, today it is time to see how much money was raised for Amy for Elijah's adoption fund! When I told her I wanted to do this, I told her it probably wouldn't be much, but I have faith that the Lord will take this money and multiply it! The final total raised was:
$119.25
Yay! Thank you so much to everyone who helped by buying something from my website! I have a special surprise that I have been feeling that the Lord wanted me to do. The other 50% that was raised will be given to Lauren for Tucker's adoption fund. So, if you were one of those who did purchase something from me between October and December, just know that 100% of what you spent is going to help these two families bring their little boys home! Just to make it easy, I'm going to send $125 to Amy and $125 to Lauren. Happy New Year everyone!!! Oh, and if you could say a prayer for Amy's daughter, Ryann, she has pneumonia and is not feeling very well. :(

I love that movie!! I love the part where the guy goes down the lockers and prays on each one. I just love that whole movie!! I haven't seen it in awhile, I may have to rent that and watch it again!! Happy New Year!!
I have never seen that movie but do own it. I so need to watch it. That was awesome. You are so sweet Kristin and are allowing the Lord to use you in so many wonderful ways. What a blessing you are to both Amy and Lauren.
Hugs,
Mimi
I've never seen this movie either but it looks awesome! I love the scripture he quoted in that scene!
That is so awesome about the money that was raised for those two sweet families! You have been such a blessing to me and so many others! Love you!
Thank You!!
Kristin I love "Facing The Giants". And the first movie that church made is "Flywheel" and I loved it too. They have gotten better with each movie they make. Fireproof was my favorite!
I think it is so great that you are helping those two families bring their babies home! You are a sweetie and I love you lots!
Have a good evening,... a good Saturday, and then a wonderful Lord's day on Sunday. I can't wait to hear what the sermon was about.
Take Care,
Mama Linda

I've never seen that movie but you are not the first one to have good things to say about it. That is so awesome that you were able to raise so much money and help bring those babies home!
I love 'Facing the Giants', we watch this when we are on a self pitty party. I loved their next movie "Fireproof".....they made two great movies! My Uncle from Texas had shared me the movie Fireproof prior to it coming out and said it would touch our lives and believe you me, it did! What a blessing this Church as shared with millions!
You definitely bloom right here in the blogging community. That is great that you raised that much money for Elijah's adoption fund! I think I am going to take that as a quote for my new year too and pass it along to my family. We could be a beautiful "rose" garden for Jesus if we stay planted where He leads us and trust Him to bring forth the beauty within us for this world to view and see His glory! Thanks for that inspiration! :)
Facing the Giants is a great movie! I have seen it at least 3 times.
Hope your friend's daughter gets well soon! I will be praying for her.

I watched some of that the other night too!! I teared up in so many places! The words "bloom where you're planted" really speak to my heart right now. And I was reminded through that movie what God wants to do in the lives of our teenagers here and around the world. They desperately need a community of believers to reach out to them, to challenge them to be the world-changers God has called them to be. The enemy can't have them! My husband and I have known for a long time that we are called to youth ministry (we were youth pastors the first few years of our marriage). Now we have just been waiting on God to open the door for us to step back into those roles! I pray it happens as He wills.
You are so generous!! I am sure they will appreciate that money so much!! I love the movie Facing the Giants. It's one of my favs. I've seen it like 10 times!! :)
