This morning, I felt so honored to be able to witness such a beautiful ceremony that Madison's Elementary School had for our veterans. Madison's class and one other class was chosen to be the "choir" for the program. The students also turned in the names of their family members who were veterans that would be able to attend, and then the superintendent called each veteran up, to be escorted by their student, and they told what branch they served in and gave them a
boutonniere. It was such a beautiful moment to witness! The love radiating from Dads/Grandpas as they were escorted by their children and the pride you could see that each child had for them had me choking back the tears. I even saw some Grandpas doing the same. It was just awesome!
Here's Madison smiling before the ceremony started, when she realized I had arrived. There were alot of people there.

Here's how far away I had to sit. :)

Here's a picture of Madison's friend Audrey (in red), escorting her Uncle Andrew (in grey). What I loved about this picture was the smiles on all the teachers faces. Our district has some of the most amazing teachers.

Here's a (way too close-up) picture of me and my sweet girl :) The songs they sang were so beautiful and they sounded great. I wish I knew how to put the video on here from my video camera :( My favorite: "God Bless the USA"!

Lily went with me too, and she was so good. I was really proud of her, because it lasted an hour and a half and she did really good sitting in her chair for that long.
I just thought y'all might find this funny......Can you see the turkey? I'll give you a minute to try and find it. LOL!
Kaylee had to decorate her turkey in a disguise for a school project and she wanted to do hers as a cheerleader. So funny!

I can't wait until Thanksgiving! Yummy :P

I am so thankful for schools that take the time to honor our veterans. I love the turkey. Taylor did hers as a princess when she had that same project.
Blessings,
Amy
That was awesome that your daughters school did that. Every school should.
Cute turkey. I love it.
What an awesome thing for a school to do. I'm glad they are involving our kids in this since it's so personal to so many people now.
Love the cheer leading turkey. Awesome. You won't have to wait too long for Thanksgiving. Two weeks away!
That is really wonderful that Madison's school had that ceremony. They all look so sweet in their matching tops too! That cheerleading turkey is so neat. It is definitely a keeper!
That was so special that Madison's school honored the veteran's like that. I think more schools should do special ceremonies like that!

Oh your little girly, girl, Kaylee! Too funny! What an awesome thing the school did! That's great! I would have been bawling the whole time!!
Thankful for our vetrans too. My grandpa has since died but served in ww11 and is buried in Arlington.
What a great day and learning experience for the kids at your school. I like her turkey. It is super cute!!!
That turkey was very well disguised! Had trouble finding it! Veteran's Day was a tear jerker for me this year with a deployed husband. The fourth graders performed and did a beautiful ceremony.
Love the turkey cheerleader!! :)
