An Awesome Anniversary!

I have been dying to tell y'all all about our Anniversary dinner! It was SO neat. Y'all know I don't get out much, and we only live about 35 minutes away from downtown Houston. I just love downtown! I love how it seems like a completely different world when you're there.

I felt really silly taking these photos out of the car window (LOL!!), but I took them anyways just so I could have some to post on my blog. Ha!

I didn't have a chance to take many photos, because the restaurant wasn't that far off the main freeway. We went here:

One of Morgan's client gave us a gift card for Morton's for Christmas, and we hadn't used it yet and figured it would be the perfect time to use it. We thought it must be a fancy place, since the gift card was for $200! Morgan had made us a reservation and when we got there, they wished us a Happy 10th Anniversary.

Check out this menu! I couldn't believe it when we sat down and the menu had our names on the top! It says "Happy 10th Anniversary, Mr. & Mrs. Meyers!" Okay, they misspelled our last name, but we didn't care. Isn't that so neat?

Hey, I even risked everyone thinking I was a total weirdo and snapped this shot from inside the restaurant! And, I didn't take my tiny camera either. I pulled out my big giant one. I don't think anyone noticed though. It's a little blurry since I didn't have the flash on.

Our waiter was so nice! They pretty much come by and tell you about everything on the menu. They bring this cart out with all the ingredients and tell you all about them. It was the BEST dinner I've ever had! We had this wedge salad with bleu cheese dressing and bleu cheese crumbles on top.........it was the best and freshest salad I've ever had, seriously! And then our steaks and baked potatoes were also the best ever. So delicious!

Our waiter convinced us that we should try their hot chocolate cake for dessert. It was so yummy! It was this round chocolate cake that kind of tasted like a brownie, but it had this hot chocolate pudding inside. It was really cool because it brought back memories of this hot chocolate pudding that my mom used to always make at home.....it tasted just like that! It also had vanilla ice cream on the side and raspberries on top. Oh.my.goodness...........DELICIOUS!!! Even Morgan ate some and he never eats sweets. We were so stuffed by the end of our dinner! LOL!!


The coolest thing ever was when they came by and asked if we would like our picture taken. Then they brought it out inside a card for us to take home. Isn't that the neatest thing ever?!! Veronica told me that I must get a photo of the two of us on our Anniversary, so here it is! :)

So, it was just the best time ever. I snapped a few photos outside the restaurant while we were waiting for our car to be brought around. Yes, we even valet parked. So fancy, right?! Ha!!

I feel so blessed that Morgan has such great clients to do such nice things for us. We used every bit of that gift card.........it amazes me that people really do spend that much to eat dinner! I'm such a simple, small-town girl that I don't think that even if I had the money to do that, that I actually would. But, it sure was fun to pretend for a night.

For all you baseball fans, I just had to snap a quick photo of Minute Maid Park, home of the Houston Astros. Morgan's parents have season tickets to the Astros and it's a lot of fun to go to the games.

So, that was our fancy night on the town. LOL! The girls spent the night at Grandma's house last night, so I bet they had alot of fun too!
