Such a BIG miracle in such a little boy!

Today was Zach's baby shower. He almost got to come home Friday, but his levels for his liver were a little high, so they're hoping this week will be the week!

My cousin's wife Tina, and my Aunt Barbara (Zach's Grandma) gave Malena this shower today and it was so nice. The girls and I went and we had a great time!

Here's a picture of our little miracle. Malena told me again today how thankful she was for all of your prayers! It was almost 2 1/2 months ago that I asked you to please pray and what a difference those prayers have made!

This cake was so yummy!

Here's what I gave Malena. They are doing a monkey theme, so I got her a monkey blanket, a stuffed monkey, some washcloths, diapers, wipes, Dreft stain remover pen, swaddler, and a monkey bib. I didn't make her anything. They really just needed the essentials, so that's what I got her. And I put it all in this cute little diaper and wipes holder that she registered for.

Here's a picture of my Aunt Barbara and Malena.

And, of course, all the girls were excited that they got to play together today.

Malena got lots of really nice gifts. My Aunt told us that they really didn't need any clothes, as they had alot of hand-me-downs, so they got alot of really useful things, like diapers, bedding, bath tub, changing table, diaper genie, monitor, etc. Here is Malena opening my gift.

I got designated to be the official baby shower photographer today, although I warned everyone that I don't really possess any photography skills. LOL!

My Aunt was being silly and I told her for sure this picture would end up on my blog! Ha!!

Malena was asking me if all of these pictures were going on the blog. Ha! I really hate this picture of me.........I mean, seriously, I think I should maybe rethink giving up on Weight Watchers. LOL!! But, I think Malena looks so beautiful in this picture and she is one of the sweetest girls you could ever meet, so I'm going to post it anyways. :-)

Tina went all out with the beautiful flower arrangements today. They smelled wonderful!
We had to have a little photo session in front of it.

Lily didn't want to cooperate with the photos. Ha!

We just had a great time and I'm so glad that we got to go. My Aunt was telling me that right now, the Doctors have Zach on formula that costs $180 per can! It is not covered by insurance. They are mixing it half and half with breastmilk, just to keep down the cost as much as they can, but he has to have it because of his liver issues and to help him grow properly. As you can imagine, this is something that they cannot afford on their own. I am thinking up some ideas of things that I can make that would appeal to everyone (rather than just hairbows) that I can sell on my website and donate 100% of the profits of these items to Malena and Troy (her husband).

I know that as bloggers, we are constantly being asked to help out with different causes, and they are all wonderful causes. But, I am sincerely asking all of you, as some of my dearest friends, to please consider helping out with my fundraiser once I get it going, by simply buying at least one of my fundraiser items for baby Zach. His family has been so strong these past 2 months, driving back and forth to Houston (an hour drive one way) to see him, and I would love to be able to help lift some of the burden of this cost off of them so that when they finally get to bring him home, they won't have the stress of having to worry about how to pay for his formula.

I will let you know the details once I get it all worked out. I truly appreciate any support that you might be able to give Zach's precious family.

Hi Kristin!

I just wanted to say thanks for stopping by my blog the other day and your always-sweet comments and support; you are a great blogging friend and I have totally dropped the ball here lately!

I am so very happy to hear that the baby is doing much better and may be able to go home this coming week. I will say some more prayers for them all.

I loved all the babyshower pics; you did a great job and looked fabulous! So did the girls!

If you do a fundraiser, I'd be glad to donate a painting. I'm not sure how that would work out exactly, but you could do a raffle or something. Let me know if that doesn't work, I will buy some things or donate some money.

God Bless and I will stop back by again really soon! :)

The baby shower pics are great! I will be praying for Zach too.

c'mon! The pic you said you look bad in really isn't bad at all! You look fab! My parents are doing weight watchers too...LOL! Don't give up on it, you can do it Kristen! Just think what you will get out of doing it.

I would love to buy some of the items for the fundraiser for Zach. Your idea is great for doing that. :0)

I was wondering about baby Zach and how he was doing! Wow! $180 per can!?!??! I just could not imagine. Yes, count me in once you get the donation items up and ready. I'll be happy to participate!

Great pictures too! Thanks for sharing!

Such beautiful pictures. It looks like that baby shower was wonderful. It is also wonderful that he is about to come home. I know they are so excited.

I cannot believe that the formula cost that much. That is insane but I will be glad to help as much as I can!

Sorry so late in commenting on this one. :) I loved your notecard idea but after reading some of the comments that people left here, it sounds like you could just do a big raffle of some sort of all of the things that different people might be willing to donate. We could even ask a couple of other people we know if they might want to donate something for the raffle too. You know I would be willing to donate a few hats if that would help. :)

I loved all the pics from the shower. The flowers were beautiful and the girls's pics were so cute!!! The pic of Lily made me laugh!

It made me laugh also when you mentioned that there was a question about which pictures would be put on the blog. At least your family is okay with you posting pics. It always looks like I'm a single mother with no family considering the fact that no one on my side of the fam lets me post their pics!

I am so glad you posted that pic of you and Malena. I really hate having my picture taken too but I realized that if I don't do it, there will never be evidence that I ever existed! :)

Hope you have a great week and talk to you soon!

P.S. Love all the stuff that you got Zach. So cute!
