Meant to Be

If you would like to join us on a walk down memory lane, click on the picture above to find out how!

I thought I would share some stories about when I was dating my husband Morgan this week.

We met in high school in Spanish class. He was a senior and I was a junior. We remained friends after he graduated and we actually went to my Prom together, just as friends!

After I graduated from high school, he was working at a computer company and every year they had a huge Christmas party. It was almost like Prom. Everyone dressed up and they had dancing and food. So, he asked me if I would like to go with him. That was our very first real "date". That was in 1994! We've been together ever since!
This is a picture of us before the Christmas party in 1995. We took this picture of ourselves by setting the timer! LOL
Here's another one of us when we were dating. That reminds me of two funny stories about our first two dates after that first Christmas party.

The first time we went out, we were driving in his new truck to go to his house in Houston. He rear-ended someone who had slowed down to turn and pretty much totaled his new truck! The police showed up and actually gave us a ride back to my parent's house. That was my first ride in a police car! He was so worked up over it. You know how guys are with their cars/trucks!

So, the next weekend, he had borrowed his mom's car to come pick me up and bring me back to Houston. We stopped by his Uncle's house on the way and he told me to remind him that we needed to get gas. Well, we left his Uncle's house and both of us totally forgot that the car was on empty! Needless to say, we ended up running out of gas on the interstate!! Luckily, a policeman was nice enough to pull over and ask if he could help. I got into his patrol car, Morgan stayed in his car, and the policeman used his car to bump Morgan's car over to the nearest gas station. The policeman kept saying, "I don't want to mess up his car" and I kept telling him "Oh, don't worry....he doesn't care about this car!" It was so funny! That was my second ride in a police car!

I love joking around about those first couple of dates! You would think I would've been scared off or something.........but I wasn't! I guess it was just meant to be! :)

Here's one of us when I was a senior at The University of Houston.
And here's another picture of us at that same company's Christmas party. Only, Morgan didn't work there anymore. I ended up working at that company for 6 years, until I quit my job to stay home with the girls. I think this picture was in 1999, right after we got married, and right before I found out I was going to be a Mom for the first time!
It's been a wild ride! We've been together for almost 15 years! This year will be our 10 year Anniversary. We have tons of memories to share, some good and some bad, but I wouldn't trade them for the world! Morgan can make me so mad sometimes, and I'm pretty sure I do the same to him, but he is my very best friend and I am so glad that we have chosen to spend our lives together! I love you Morgan!!

This is such a sweet story. I also met my husband in high school and we will be married 12 years at the end of this year. The funny thing is I did not like my husband when we were in school together, but I ended up falling in love an marrying him a year after we finished high school. I know how it feels to never trade the good or the bad times. Great story!
