"The Beggar Who Gives Alms" by Downhere

My new favorite song that I listen to over and over in the car is "The Beggar Who Gives Alms" by the band, Downhere. It is from their "Ending is Beginning" CD. I highly recommend this CD!
I love this song because the words are so beautiful and there is one instrumental part within the song that is so magnificent that it truly reminds me of what music must sound like in Heaven.

"The Beggar Who Gives Alms"
by Downhere

There are no mystic jewels embedded in my prose
No moonlit haloed cherubs perched on my piano
No lyrics laced with pixie dust, No angels sing along
I am just a beggar who gives alms

Gold and silver have I none, but such I have give thee
Borrowed words from the One who gave the gift to me

The pearl that I could never buy, this life, this dream, this song
And I am just a beggar who gives alms

I am not the creator, but a scribe with a pen
I'm recreating visions through a cracked and broken lens
Only One has ever seen the home for which we long
And I am just a beggar who gives alms

I just think the lyrics to this song are so poetic and beautifully written. I especially love the part that says "Only One has ever seen the home for which we long". I hope if you don't have this CD, that you will get it! I promise you won't be disappointed. It also has "How Many Kings" on it, which I shared in this post.
